legorreta + legorreta

first summer goals

- prepare for + take the GRE's after August 1st
- travel... somewhere
- prepare for apps to grad programs
- read
- get a tan
- swim in the ocean
- new list of architecture firms
- write
- draw
- start running again

It's hard to come up with summer goals when I start a job in two days. I guess the real goals will come when I'm dreaming of being out of the office. At least I'll be on campus and maybe have a lot of things available to me, like the library, gym, pool. Hopefully I'll be motivated enough to actually do things once the work day is over... reading and coffee is always a good option.

ahh, summer

Summer again... it feels like last summer was years ago. I can't believe it was the end of Oatman's studio, I was technically a Philosophy student, anddd undeniably jobless. Now it's the end of DBell's semester, just had a great dinner with the class, I'm doing really well in architecture, and I've been on payroll for a week. I can't wait until the camp starts again this summer... only it's too bad I can't sit outside and sunbathe everyday... I'll be in the office after taking the students to class. But of course, only one day into summer vacation and I'm dreaming of the future. I have to figure out a day to take the GRE's... and the school's I'm going to apply to. What comes to mind now are: NYU, MIT, Harvard... well those are the top ones, funny how NYU and MIT come up again even after so many years. And what is my new dream? Well, it's not far from philosophy and anthropology, some of my two most recent dreams... I think it would be awesome to study Linguistics and maybe Italian [?] or some language? It would be more than a great dream to become a professor and translator. I could travel with my job, go to Italy again.. I'm not sure it's really a possibility, but I dream of traveling constantly, and becoming a professor has also been a dream for a long time. I really don't want to sit behind CAD all day in some stale firm, holed up in a windowless room somewhere in New York. I think I'm worth a bit more than that.
